Hello, friends!

I'll get around to writing a proper intro post to pin here but in the meantime... hi!

I'm new here, still finding my sea legs and trying to figure out how all of this works. I'm totally having some serious LJ flashbacks... I'm sure it'll all come back to me but it's been literal decades, so it might take me a little time to re-acclimate to this delightfully vintage online vibe.

Looking forward to connecting with fandom friends and communities in this space, which is calmer and more intentional than a lot of soc med these days. And I'm happy to receive any suggestions for places to explore!

newcomers has lots of resources about how to use Dreamwidth and where to find things you'll enjoy here. If you're coming from Tumblr, soc_puppet is posting tutorials for that angle. Find your Tumblr friends here.

Right now is Three Weeks for Dreamwidth (April 25-May 15), with lots of extra activity and fun things to do. The Follow Friday Master Post has lists of active communities by topic where you can look for some based on your interests. Many bloggers use recurring posts to pin down their key interests and maintain activity, which is also a good source of inspiration if you aren't sure what you want to post yet.

If you liked LJ, definitely keep mentioning that. Some interests to consider are old web / small web / indie web / slow web. Lots of people are interested, and that should help you find each other.

c_ent is an umbrella community for all things Chinese entertainment. I made a post there that‘s possibly useful to you: List of C-ent related communities on Dreamwidth.
The most active in that list is c_ent, so I‘d start there. There are weekly discussion posts on what you‘re watching, promos and reviews for shows etc.
